Blond colour, made with clear malt. Leffe is Belgium’s original abbey beer,
tracing its origins back to the abbey of Leffe, founded in 1152. Inside the
abbey, monks handcrafted their own beer according to the specific rules. In
the 1800’s abbey beers were beginning to be brewed outside the abbey wall,
though the traditions and recipes were followed closely. Alc. Vol. 6.6%

Almost black robe, perfectly balanced taste, sweet and bitter, with an after
taste of coffee. Leffe dark, also an authentic abbey beer, is brewed with roasted
malts to provide its full bodied, slightly fruity taste and its rich deep brown
colour. Both Leffe blonde and dark are served with a creamy head in a
chalice-type glass, thus continuing the traditions of the abbey monks. Alc.

World renowned as – “The Best of the white beers”. The Hoegaarden history
starts around 1445 in the small village of the same name; following a secret
recipe using the purest ingredients and locally grown wheat, the villagers
developed the original unfiltered white beer. Light and refreshing beer with
a slightly bitter and fruity taste, with a hint of coriander and curacao. Alc.

Kriek

Lambic beer with fresh cherries added. Kriek is the flemish word for cherry.
Pouring into the balloon shaped glass allows full expression of aroma and

Around 850 different beers are made in Belgium and 20% of them by
monks. The ancestral abbey beer recipes have been used as the base
for artisan beers called “special” beers. Made by the experts brewers,
these recipes are quite often handed down through the generations and
have some evolution into modern style beers. Artisan beers are usually
high fermentation beers.

Created in 1791 by Pauwel Kwak, who owned a hotel in the small town
of Brabant. His beer is famous all over the world, and has always been
made with double high fermentation. Served in a wooden bracket and

This top fermented amber beer is full bodied yet easy drinking, displaying

The discovery of this unique brewing process some two centuries ago
was considered somewhat of a miracle to the people the Pajottenland
area around Brussels. Wild yeasts in the Senne Valley air would get
into the wort and provoke spontaneous fermentation, saving the
brewers from doing the job themselves. Today, true Lambic is still
produced only in this area, on the basis of 30% wheat and often with
the addition of local fruits

Beer made by spontaneous fermentation. Gueuze is a wheat beer
matured in Oak barrels a subtle blend of young and old Lambic .
100% natural light beer with a smooth flavour. Alc. Vol. 6.5%
Timmermans Framboise 330ml $14.90
Founded in 1781, the Timmermans brewery in Itterbeek add whole
raspberries to lambic maturing in oak barrels to create Framboise.
This beer is delicate pink in colour, with an intense berry aroma, a
refined taste and smooth almond finish. Alc. Vol. 4%
Timmermans Peche 330ml $14.90
Peche Lambic is obtained by adding 100% natural peach juice to the
lambic resting in oak casks. The fruit itself is not added as the stone is
too bitter and may influence the taste of the final brew. The resulting
beer captures the essence of sweet peaches and cream along with sour
lambic notes. Alc Vol 4. %

The Benedictine Maredsous Abbey was founded in 1872 and although the beer is now brewed under license by Duvel Moortgat , the monks still continue to exercise strict control over recipes and quality.

Golden colour, slightly hazy, a fine head with an aroma of fresh hops
and yeast. Fruits of Muscat and raisins complement the touch of
bitterness. The beer is re-fermented in the bottle without any
pasteurisations. A/c. Vol. 8%
Chimay Rouge 330ml $14.90
Made at Notre-Dame of Scourmont (Hainaut province), probably the
best known Trappist in the world. La rouge (the Red) has a strong
flavour, not too bitter with a beautiful “bouguet” A/c. Vol. 7%

The most popular of the Chimay’s range, very dark and full bodied
with a complex aroma. Although slightly more dense, the Bleue is a
